Bowling For Education Tournament
Catgories: Latest News, Photo Galleries December 29, 2010On September 15, 2010, SMPS Tampa Bay and Allstate Construction held our second annual Bowling For Education Tournament at Pinarama Bowling Center. This sold out event raised more than $14,000 for the Hillsborough Education Foundation, a charitable organization that invests private community resources in the Hillsborough County public school system to help students achieve academic success by providing classroom grants, scholarships, mentoring, reading tutors and a school supply store for Title 1 schools. The was delicious food, donated by Beef O’Bradys and Hooters, and lots of friendly A/E/C competition going on at the lanes. MaryEllen Elia, the Hillsborough County School Board Superintendent, was on hand to accept the donation check from Allstate’s Casey Weldon. Other notable attendees included: Rory Salimbene, General Manager of Construction at the School Board; Bill Hoffman, President of the Hillsborough Education Foundation; Sue House, Board Member of the Hillsborough Education Foundation; and Brad Johnson, former Super Bowl-winning, Tampa Bay Buccaneer Quarterback.
